Privacy policy
Your data is yours.
This is what Bark.AI collects about you and your dog, what we do with it, what we never do with it, and how to take it back. Plain words, no fine print. Last updated 29 October 2026.
Who we are
Bark.AI is made by Fourier Pet. Write to us any time at hello@fourierpet.com. A person reads every message.
What we collect
- Your account. Your email address and a password, which we store only in scrambled form.
- Your dog. Their name, breed, age, the personality quiz, the character sketch you edit, and the things you tell Bark.AI to remember, like "scared of the vacuum".
- Collar readings. Movement, rest, temperature and location from the collar tracker you pair, and whether it's on and reporting.
- The thread. The messages you and your dog exchange, and what each of your dog's replies was based on.
- Your phone number, only if you add it so your dog can text your real phone.
- Problem reports. When you use Report a problem, we get a description of what went wrong and the app's own notes about what it was doing at the time, so we can fix it.
What we use it for
To write your dog's thread, to compare today with their own normal and tell you when something isn't, to build the vet report when you ask for one, to send texts you've asked for, and to fix things that break. That's the whole list.
What we never do
- We don't sell your data, or your dog's.
- We don't use it for advertising, ours or anyone else's.
- Your dog will never recommend a product. Their voice is not for sale.
Who else handles it
We use outside services to host Bark.AI, to deliver texts to your phone, and to turn your dog's readings into words. They handle your data only to do that job for us, and not for their own purposes. We'll name them here if you ask.
Texts to your phone
If you add your number, your dog texts you from a number we run. Your carrier's normal message and data rates apply. Reply STOP to any text to turn them off, and HELP to get a reply with our contact details. Urgent health alerts stop too when you stop texts, so you may prefer to set quiet hours in the app instead.
Your choices
- See it. Any message in the thread can be tapped to show the data behind it.
- Quiet it. Quiet, balanced or chatty, quiet hours and a daily limit are all yours to set in the app.
- Take it with you or delete it. Write to hello@fourierpet.com and we'll send you a copy of your data, or delete your account and everything in it. We'll confirm when it's done.
How long we keep it
For as long as you have an account, because your dog's own normal is built from their history. When you delete your account, we delete the data with it, apart from copies in short-lived backups, which expire on their own.
Children
Bark.AI is for adults. We don't knowingly collect anything from anyone under 13, and we'll delete it if we learn we have.
When the hardware ships
The Bark Tag and its bases aren't on sale yet. Before they are, we'll update this page to say exactly how location history and the Plus base camera and microphones are stored, for how long, and how to turn them off.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect, and the date at the top will change.
